Customer Success Story: R&D Miniatures
Less than two years ago, Debbi Sorrell fulfilled her
dream of owning miniature horses. She and her husband,
Roger, recently moved to the country, near Owingsville,
KY, where she finally has room to raise horses.
Debbi said that after they moved, she saw an ad in the
newspaper for miniature horses, and at the time she was
only looking for one. Today, Roger and Debbi own eight;
three of which should foal in the spring.
"They're like Lay's potato chips," Debbi said, "You
can't have just one."
She said they eventually plan on being in the business
of raising and selling their miniature horses, but that
she will be very picky in finding new homes for them.
"I enjoy just spending time with them, grooming them or
watching them run and play," Debbi said.
In February, Debbi purchased EquineMax to keep records
on her horses.
"I was looking for a program to keep all of my
information, and I had tried a couple of others," she
said, "One was real complicated, and the other just
didn't have what I needed. I downloaded the trial [of
EquineMax] and I was really pleased-it had everything I
needed, and now I use it every day to put in
information."
Debbi said she originally kept her records on paper.
"I had to handwrite everything. It's a lot easier to put
it on the computer, you just click a couple of things to
put in your information, and it's there when you need
it," she said, "You're not having to shuffle through
papers."
Debbi is also looking forward to using EquineMax to help
when she starts selling her horses.
"The person we bought from didn't have all of the
information on his horses," she said, "It will be nice
when we sell, because I have the pedigrees on all of our
horses, and their complete background with medical
histories."
Debbi said she also uses the task reminder in EquineMax
to keep up with worming dates, and automatically remind
her when the next one should be.
"It [EquineMax] is easy to get around. It has all of the
basic things you need-it's a good program," she said, "I
would highly recommend it to anyone who has horses."
