"As long as my day entails some activity with horses, whether it's management, grooming or leading a trail ride, I'm as happy as a clown," Caryn Finefrock said.
She said she is currently trying fox hunting and working on her jumping technique, but has also previously participated in AQHA halter and pleasure showing.
"With horses, the hard work you put into them shows almost immediately in their attitude or appearance," she said.
After using EquineMax for nearly a year, Finefrock said she has tweaked the program just a bit to use only the features she needs and make it fit her facilities.
"At first, I just used it on and off, but I had a major computer crash recently, and didn't know what to do without it," she said, "I couldn't keep up with my horses anymore. Now, I just couldn't live without it."
Finefrock said she did not keep good records on her horses before she purchased the software. After reading about the program in Stable Management Magazine, she requested a trial CD and purchased shortly after.
"I did what I'm sure a lot of horse people do," she said, "I had little pieces of paper here and there, either sticky notes or torn from a notebook. They were haphazard and everywhere, in piles on my desk that I wouldn't find for three weeks."
She said a lot of her record keeping was even by memory, trying to judge when a horse should be wormed, or what their most recent medical treatment was for.
"I like being able to pull up a horse and see their overall record, rather than thumbing through a bunch of files," Finefrock said, "It's all right there at your fingertips. It's nice having something else to remember for you."
She said she has started looking into the reports she can generate with EquineMax to print information on her horses for better management.
"I just love your system," she said.
