"How do I convert my data file from my older version of EquineMax to EquineMax ES?"
Equinemax ES has a file converter included in the software. To convert your data file from EquineMax 2006 version of the software:
1. First, be sure to make a backup of your data file in the older version of EquineMax. Then, click on the Microsoft Office button (the multicolored button at the top left corner) in EquineMax ES, then select Convert/Convert Data File from the previous version.
2. A window will open which should show, Look In: EquineIQ folder and your older version of EquineMax and EquineMax ES should show below. Double-click on the older version name (EquineMax 2006) and that will show the contents of the folder--should be Backup, Data, System. Double-click on Data and your data file should be listed in the window.
3. Double-click on your ranch data file and the conversion process will begin. Follow the instructions on the screen and when finished you should get a message telling you the file has been successfully converted. On the top of the EquineMax ES home screen you should see EquineMax ES - C:\EquineIQ\EquineMax ES\Data\YourRanchName.emdb
4. Make a backup of the new EquineMax ES herd file.
